Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church has been partnering with Luis Palau‘s "Season of Service 2010" throughout the summer. PLCPC is doing our very own outreach through our sponsored projects, including an important and moving Film Event:
PLCPC will be showing the movie "To Save a Life", and the price of admission is a food donation to one of the following three ministries: Presbyterian Urban Ministries, The Ocean Beach Soup Kitchen, and Loaves and Fishes. "To Save a Life" empowers youth and congregations to make a difference in the lives of hurting, lonely and lost kids; a donation of food items brings hope to the hungry and draws attention to those ministries who serve them. The movie will be shown on September 9th & 21st at 7:00 pm.
In addition, we are magnifying our efforts by joining 600+ churches and community organizations in San Diego in a unified, area wide campaign, enabling our church community to be the hands and feet of Jesus. PLCPC seeks to actively engage our church family to:
- Address the needs of the area
- Mobilize each church member to serve the community
- Further establish the church as a relevant, authentic presence within the community
- Break down barriers among church, corporate, and civic leadership
- Soften the ground for the Gospel
We seek to build upon the unity created and to open doors and hearts within our community to Jesus Christ. And we seek to accomplish this by partnering with others in a show of unprecedented love towards our neighbors. The Season of Service has five impact areas: Hunger, Homelessness, Schools, Military and Mentoring. Our own Season of Service project focuses on hunger.
We are also supporting the following projects sponsored by other Season of Service Partners:
