Genesis Diez Mission Trip 2010
ALL-CHURCH MEXICO MISSION TRIP 2010
Our church family received an exciting opportunity to serve in Mexico at Rancho Genesis this past spring (March 28 - April 1, 2010).

Rancho Genesis is a Christ centered mission with the hope of creating a learning experience for the orphans and migrant children of Baja California, Mexico. These children have experienced interfamily violence, sexual abuse, abandonment, malnutrition, insufficient medical care, and lack of education. Our PLCPC team worked on construction projects at local schools and the orphanage, and ran a Vacation Bible School for the children, with the hope to help the children build a positive self esteem, the ability to express their potential, and an understanding of God's love.
Rancho Genesis was started with two brothers seeing a need and responding to God’s call in their hearts to find ways to show these forgotten children that there is a God who loves them and will never forget them. Our High School BRICK Ministries has been involved in an annual Spring Break Mission Trip to serve Rancho Genesis over the last two decades. Adult groups from PLCPC have also embarked on day trips to serve at the mission as well. All who have participated in these opportunities to serve have been deeply touched by the work of God through the lives of the children at Rancho Genesis.
WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED
Manual labor: This year's intergenerational mission team stayed for 5 days, working together in the mornings on construction projects: painting, cementing, digging, building out door showers, building foundations, roofing, and the like. In the afternoons, our students ran a Vacation Bible School for the local children, while adults chose to participate in the VBS program, continue working on the mornings construction projects, help with cooking and preparing meals, hold and care for babies in the orphanage, or serve on the encouragement team.
Spiritual growth: Each morning we started off with a group breakfast and a devotional lead by one of our PLCPC High School students. Each evening we concluded the day with a time of worship around the fire pit as we shared our different experiences, how we saw God working in our lives and in the lives of the children, and enjoyed another message from one of our student leaders.
