Senior Adult Ministry

Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church has a dynamic older adult ministry. We provide the resources to welcome and encourage older adults to participate at every level of the church as they meet and develop their spiritual needs and utilize their talents. Our mission is to HELP BUILD TRANSFORMED LIVES FOR CHRIST.

• CHATSWORTH ADULT CENTER meets every Tuesday in the Family Life Center from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Each week is an exciting program with line dancing, bridge and crafts from 10:00-11:00, fabulous music and informative speakers from 11:00-12:00 and a delicious hot lunch from 12:00-1:00.
   
• EXCURSIONS offer a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and fun and occur throughout the year.  We enjoy the Palm Springs Follies, Lawrence Welk Dinner Theater, Julian, the Old Town Trolley and many other exciting adventures.  The trips are a wonderful occasion for church members to invite their friends and neighbors to experience our PLCPC family.
   
• SENIOR ADULT BIBLE STUDY is normally taught by our Associate Minister and meets seasonally.  Church members and new believers are invited to grow in their Christian faith in a warm, relaxed setting.
   
• RESOURCES for older adults and their families are available in the church office.  We have information on community resources including support groups, transportation, community services, Eldercare directories and much more.
   
• RETIREMENT COMMUNITY TRIPS allow older adults to do their own research and make a decision before a crisis occurs.  Each month from September through June, Older Adult Ministry visits a different retirement community where both transportation and a delightful lunch are provided.
   
• SPECIAL EVENTS during the year include an annual Christmas Dinner, seminars with an emphasis on healthy aging, care giving, preventative healthcare and spirituality and aging.
