Church Renovation
CONGREGATION VOTES APPROVAL!
After four years of preparation, the renovation of our facilities and building of our new pipe organ are now official! On Sunday, April 25, the congregation voted overwhelmingly to approve a capital campaign to raise $1.8 million for the projects.
In his sermon titled “Get Up!” Pastor John Powell spoke of the importance of renewing our facility, for it also provides us an incentive to renew our faith and our fellowship. The efforts we’ll make over the next two years will lead to a celebration of renewal and accomplishment in 2012, the year marking our 75th anniversary. During the congregational meeting, Renovation Campaign Coordinator John B. Spafford presented a synopsis of the work of the Renovation Task Force over the previous four years. He reviewed many of the comments and questions heard during 15 “Renovation Review” presentations made over the previous six weeks. The comments demonstrated the depth of interest and enthusiasm shared by many who attended those presentations. View the 2010 Renovation Review presentation materials...
Spafford said that now that the congregation has endorsed the campaign, he and his campaign partner Jill Curtiss will begin recruiting a leadership team, building campaign materials, and seeking major donors.
